PSD2 Extended Validation (QWAC) Certificate

What's it for?

The PSD2 Extended Validation Certificate is a Qualified Web Server Authentication Certificate (QWAC) aimed at securing financial transactions, in accordance with current European regulations: the Directive (EU) 2015/2366 on payment services in the internal market. This certificate authenticates the Payment Service Provider’s (PSP) website to customers and also encrypts communications.

who can request it?

Certificate applicants must be the legal representatives of the Payment Service Provider.

WHO CAN BE A SUBSCRIBER?

In this case, the subscriber will be the legal entity, i.e. the entity acting as the Payment Service Provider.

what documentation do i need?

To obtain this certificate it is necessary to present:

  • Identification document: DNI, NIE, PAS.
  • Power of attorney accrediting the representation in force.
  • They should also identify the category of the entity:
    • Private organization.
    • Government entity.
    • Commercial entity.
    • Non-commercial entity.
  • The name of the domain(s) you wish to authenticate (DNS/CSR).
