PSD2 extended validation (QWAC)

The Extended Validation PSD2 certificate is a qualified web server authentication certificate (QWAC) aimed at securing financial transactions, in accordance with current European regulations: Directive (UE) 2015/2366 on payment services in the internal market. This certificate authenticates the Payment Service Providers (PSP) website to customers and also encrypts communications.

Who can apply?

Applicants for certificates must be the legal representatives of the Payment Service Provider.

Who can be a subscriber?

In this case, the subscriber will be the legal entity, i.e., the entity acting as Payment Service Provider.

What documentation do I need?

To obtain this certificate you will need:

  • Identification Document: DNI, NIE.
  • Power of Attorney in force
  • It should also identify the category of the entity:
    • Private organization.
    • Government entity.
    • Commercial entity.
    • Non-commercial entity.
  • The name of the domain/domains you wish to authenticate (DNS/CSR).
How do I apply?

ADVANCED ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE BASED ON A QUALIFIED CERTIFICATE:

EADTrust will send you the contract of terms and conditions for the provision of the requested service. You must then sign it with an advanced electronic signature supported by a qualified certificate and send it to us together with the mandatory documentation, also signed. You can use your electronic ID or any other signature based on a qualified certificate issued by a service provider.

AUTHENTICATION BY A NOTARY:

You will need to go to the notary with the terms and conditions contract, identify yourself and sign the contract in the presence of the notary, so that the notary can attest to the authenticity of your signature. Once signed, you will need to email us the contract together with the notarial attestation. Foreign companies will also need to attach the Hague Apostille.
