Domain validation certificate (DV)

The Domain Validation (DV) certificate establishes a basic level of trust in a website by authenticating it, confirming that the domain is valid and belongs to the certificate subscriber. This type of certificate protects the communication between the user's browser and the website.

It is obtained quickly as it is not necessary to present documentation concerning a legal entity.

Who can request one?

Any natural person acting in the name and on behalf of a legal person in possession of a web domain.

Who can be a subscriber?

The subscriber of a certificate is the natural or legal person who holds the certificate associated with a web server that is linked to a private key.

What documentation do I need?

Only the web domain is required.

How can I request one?

EADTrust offers three options:

By appointment and after filling out the web form, you can go to EADTrust’s offices located at calle Méntrida 6, 28043 Madrid, with the indicated documentation. You can find step-by-step information on how to apply for an electronic certificate here*

ADVANCED ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE BASED ON A QUALIFIED CERTIFICATE:

EADTrust will send you the contract of terms and conditions for the provision of the requested service. You must then sign it with an advanced electronic signature supported by a qualified certificate and send it to us together with the mandatory documentation, also signed. You can use your electronic ID or any other signature based on a qualified certificate issued by a service provider.

AUTHENTICATION BY A NOTARY:

You will need to go to the notary with the terms and conditions contract, identify yourself and sign the contract in the presence of the notary, so that the notary can attest to the authenticity of your signature. Once signed, you will need to email us the contract together with the notarial attestation. Foreign companies will also need to attach the Hague Apostille.
