Digital certificates for natural and legal persons

An electronic certificate is a computer file issued by a Trust Service Provider that technically and legally guarantees the identity of a person in their online transactions and links the verification and signature data to a specific signatory.

They can be used for both identification and electronic signature

Web certificates are essential tools that enable institutions to offer secure online services

Qualified certificates are governed by Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 and must meet a number of specific requirements

Legal effects

Qualified electronic signature certificates have a presumption of legal validity, i.e. they cannot be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence in legal proceedings.

Furthermore, a qualified certificate issued in any EU Member State must be recognized and is valid in all other Member States.
