Trust services consist of:

• the creation, verification and validation of electronic signatures, electronic seals or electronic timestamps, certified electronic delivery services and certificates relating to these services, or
• the creation, verification and validation of certificates for website authentication, or
• the preservation of electronic signatures, seals or certificates relating to these services.

While non-qualified trust services may meet different requirements, qualified services meet the requirements set out in the eIDAS Regulation. As a result, they enjoy a presumption of authenticity and enhanced legal effectiveness.

In order to provide qualified trust services, it is necessary to be qualified by the supervisory body, which in Spain is the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation.
